Wheelchair accessible home with second kitchen for multi-generational living.

Oberlin’s First Home

Oberlin Community Land Trust

In June of 2022, The Oberlin Community Land Trust completed its first fully rehabbed home. The building had been vacant for the past five years until the land trust purchased 98 E. Vine St. in August 2021 at auction for $72,000. Oberlin CLT was able to secure the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home with funding from the Community Foundation of Lorain County, the Green Edge Fund, the Finance Fund, Bill Long Foundation and additional donors.

The rebab included a new electrical system, new insulation and windows, a renovated kitchen and bathroom and energy efficiency upgrades. The home is now wheelchair accessible and includes a second kitchen, making it adaptable for multigenerational living.

In March 2023, the home was sold to a local family.
